The Fortune Teller // Pontus Pettersson

the-invisible-dog-the-fortune-teller-pettersson.jpeg

From a series of 52 photographs assembled into a self made deck of card Swedish choreographer Pontus Pettersson will read your fortune. This is a one to one performance inviting you to the occult performance of a reading. The stage will for this moment be as small as in between two people, intimate and speculative, future meets past, astral planes and spiritual animals, who knows what the cards will say?

Part of Invisible Dog 7th Annual Artists Open Studios

Besides fortune telling Petterssons choreographic work ranges from cat practicing, writing poetry to dancing. It is a choreography off and on stage playing and questioning  the notion and emergence of choreography and dance as two singular entities, yet closely entangled. At the moment Pontus is in New York as an MRX Artist-In-Residence at Movement Research with a grant from The Swedish Arts Grants Committee working on the link between dance and poetry.

Pontus is also involved as a performer in Mette Ingvartsen 7 Pleasures and La Substance – but in English by Mårten Spångberg. He is a recurring artist at the venue Weld in Stockholm and holds an MA in choreography from the University of Dance and Circus in Stockholm.
