The Invisible Dog has grown – and it’s all thanks to you. Since we opened two years ago, we have had an enormous audience attend our visual art exhibitions, dance, theater, and music performances; film screenings; literature and poetry readings; lectures; community events; and more.

We pledge to grow our art center and continue to serve our artistic community in the years to come. Your support will help us continue to support and value our artists by providing them with subsidized studio, performance and exhibition space. Our goal is to bring you even more site-specific and commissioned performances and installations – presentations that you will only be able to see at The Invisible Dog.

Today’s donations go directly to tomorrow’s exhibitions and performances. We think it is important that you know what you’re so generously supporting, so here is some information about what you can look forward to seeing at the Invisible Dog:

Coming in May: Holy River by Prune Nourry

Inspired by science of procreation, and the ethics surrounding the creation of life, Prune has nurtured this project into being since 2009. The Invisible Dog is a place where connections are made: work begins with an artist’s idea that, through her hard work, becomes the exhibition, which is, in turn, given to the viewer to engage with and interpret. In 2011, sculptures from this body of work were cast into the Ganges. Here, they sit before you, asking you to draw connections between the  ideas of holy water, the creation of that which we consider to be holy, and the female form. This may be the stage of creation of this body of work, but the connections made between the sculptures, you, and the space live on, if only in memory.

Coming Next Fall: William and Steven Ladd

The Ladd brothers will take over the entire ground floor with a site-specific installation inspired by memory.

Opening Next Spring: Ryan Frank & 2 FIK

Sculptor Ryan Frank presents new work that combines photography and industrial materials. This installation in the garden gallery will include a variety of light boxes created from handmade boxes and repurposed domestic items.

Photographer 2Fik returns with another project that pushes the boundaries of portraiture. 2Fik’s newest body of work will feature photographs staged to resemble iconic Renaissance paintings with self-portraits of 2Fik replacing the characters in the actual paintings.

All donations are 100% tax-deductible though our fiscal sponsor, The Field.* To donate, please click here. If you are interested in underwriting an artist’s studio, performance, or exhibition please contact lucien[at]theinvisibledog[dot]org
