John Moran Benefit

Composer/Choreographer and Designer John Moran have lost his only computer after a crash. Currently, he and regular performance partner, Saori Tsukada, are in the middle of an international tour, and have had plans to use that opportunity to create their first, feature-length film together, of their latest work ‘John Moran + Saori (…in Thailand)’. However, without a computer to work on, these efforts will have been for nothing.

John Moran has generally been regarded as the protege of composer Philip Glass. In 2003, Glass was quoted as saying, “I am convinced that there is no more important composer working today, than John Moran. His works have been so advanced as to be considered revolutionary.” Having created numerous, large-scale operas over the 1990’s – often featuring performers such as Uma Thurman, Allen Ginsberg, Iggy Pop, and Julia Stiles – his latest works have featured the dancer, Saori Tsukada. After relocating their work to Europe in 2007, Moran and Saori have created a sensation among presenters internationally, and are currently beginning their 3rd world tour in the past 4 years.
