This is the 7th Season of The Invisible Dog! And we need YOU to make it our best yet.

7 years ago a run down factory on 51 Bergen Street captured Lucien Zayan’s imagination and The Invisible Dog Art Center was born. With each passing season our ambition grows. For the 7th Season we have planned 10 exhibitions, 14 performances, 30 artists working every day in our artist studios, and countless collaborations mean that as always, we’ve got an amazing year ahead of us.

DONATE HERE.

Do you know who we do this for? We do it for you.

You come to our openings, browse our exhibitions, shop at our pop-ups, participate in interactive performance pieces, support great theater, take (jello) shots with us, relax on the bench, peek in the garden, follow our newsletters—and yes, make our Kickstarter a success year after year.

You support a space in NYC with a storied past and a brilliant future. Once a belt factory that created jobs and commerce in our beloved Boerum Hill, for the past 7 years we have become a cultural anchor on Bergen Street and will continue to do so as long as our 152 year old home is standing. You support a space that is devoted to artists, not for just one project but for their whole careers. Your donation means we can continue to collaborate with emerging artists and support them as they become established producers of culture and community.

Together, our success is undeniable. We continue to prove that art can thrive when collaboration and experimentation are made central to an organizations mission. And in no way could this have happened without you.

In 2012 – watch the video – we saw the need for increased support to help meet the needs of the artists we work with, and Kickstarter supporters helped us to succeed in raising our goal of $25,000 – the first time an arts institution had funded their entire season on Kickstarter!

In 2013 – watch the video – we opened the Glass House, and increased our roster of cultural partners, and grew our exhibition, performance and events schedule – and you helped us to raise well beyond the $25,000 goal.

In 2014 – watch the video – we redesigned our 2nd and 3rd floors to better accommodate our artists-in-residence and to invigorate the upstairs space with the addition Tattly and Friends Work Here, nearly doubling the creative capacity of 51 Bergen Street.

For 2015/16, our goal is to continue to produce high quality programming and to build towards a decade of development.

Thank you for making our Seventh Season our most successful!
