We May Never Dance Again is an ongoing, episodic work of fiction presented in serial format on stage and via social media. Featuring the imagined lives of the performers, performing caricatures of themselves—We May Never Dance Again focuses on emotional relationships in the body and with words to the point of melodrama. The relationship of melodrama to realism is complex. The protagonists of melodramatic works may either be ordinary (and hence realistically drawn) people who are caught up in extraordinary events, or highly exaggerated and unrealistic characters. Accompanies by orchestral music, we play with both. We May Never Dance Again blurs the line between truth and illusion while shifting seamlessly from irrational to superficial to the need for real drama and real hope.
