Season 13 Annual Fundraiser

  • The Invisible Dog Art Center 51 Bergen Street Brooklyn, NY, 11201 United States (map)

Dear Friends,

Whether you are triskaidekaphobe or triskaidekaphile, this year marks our 13th season at The Invisible Dog. Mazal Tov!

A quick look back for our new donors: in October 2009, The Invisible Dog Art Center was founded and opened in the midst of a major financial crisis and many predicted that we will not survive very long.  But thanks to your unconditional support, we did 13 years, ... not so bad, right?

13 fantastic years made of marvelous projects with hundreds of artists, performers, dancers, actors, musicians. Yes, The Invisible Dog is proud of its multidisciplinary mission and will continue to support and offer a safe space to a large diversity of artists and mediums.

Last year, despite the global situation, we offered you an exciting program, relaxing moments in our garden,  two major exhibitions - The Other Side by Steven and William Ladd, and Ahlan Wa Sahlan. We also presented a series of performances by the american vicarious and Peter Clough, a dance movie festival and we were excited by the re-opening of La Salle A Manger.

So, what are we cooking for you for this 13th season?

We opened the season with Stephen Morrison's "Dog Show #1: The Dinner Party", described by ArtNet as "the most delightfully insane art show you will see all year". 4000 visitors came to visit the exhibition and the opening party was memorable.

We hope to announce soon that the exhibition has found a new home and a second life.  Your support this year will help so much!

Stay around the table: Shonni Enelow and David Levine are back for a series of performance dinners. This year, and after the success of the previous dinner performances in 2019 and 2018, they will honor Clifford Odets and with his 1935 play, Waiting for Lefty.

Also in November, we are thrilled to begin another new collaboration with Media Art Xploration: we will be hosting The Neuroverse, featuring sound installations, live music and theater, robots, immersive installations, and provocative conversations.

For the end of the year and for the holiday season, we have renewed our partnership with FAD Market, everyone's beloved event

During the second part of the season from January to August 2022, we reserve you some marvelous moments: a dance residency with Nicole Mannarino (Jan) leading to a series of performances (May), a new group show about food in March, the second edition of the Dance Movies Festival in collaboration with the Cultural Services of the French Embassy in New York (July) and many, many more.

Unfortunately due to the pandemic, several international projects has been cancelled or postponed and we are working to bring them back as soon as possible this season. Stay tuned.
