The Invisibe Dog and The Scion Project are thrilled to present a series of painting by artist Megan Berk
Megan Berk is a painter whose practice unfolds through distinct series, each rooted in deeply personal observation. Driven by both seduction and anxiety, her work translates private impulses into formal explorations of shape, light, and color.
Her process is at once cerebral and intuitive: she gathers impressions from everyday life—travel, reading, visiting her family—and allows them to gestate through writing and photography before returning to them with a more structured approach. Though she admits to overthinking at times, Berk emphasizes clarity and restraint in her choices, trusting her first instincts with color and form.
For Berk, making art is inseparable from living. She draws on the tensions and uncertainties of her inner world, distilling them into images that carry both intimacy and universality. The influence of her family, alongside supportive mentors and teachers, has been central in sustaining her slow but steady path as an artist.
Her exhibitions bring together painting and sculpture, often circling around seemingly modest sources of inspiration—such as the fragility of a houseplant in winter—that grow into meditations on persistence, care, and survival.
Though she recognizes the sacrifices of an artistic life, Berk sees it as an inescapable commitment, a challenge she embraces with resolve. As she puts it, unless she were to suddenly become an acrobat, she plans to remain an artist for the rest of her life.

The Scion Project (TSP) was founded to create a space where creativity thrives and artists of all backgrounds can find support and inspiration. It’s a place where both young people and adults can study or work, free from the pressure of purchasing goods or Wi-Fi, all while enjoying art from talented local, national, and international artists.Their vision is to integrate art into everyday life—whether it's while enjoying a coffee, lunch, or dessert. By breaking down the formalities of traditional galleries, TSP makes art accessible and engaging to everyone, without entrance fees or exclusivity. Their mission is to connect art, artists, and the public, fostering meaningful connections and inspiring creativity. They invite all to experience art in a welcoming space that challenges the notion that creativity belongs only in certain places or to certain people.
