Oliver Dungey


Oliver Dungey is a film producer based in New York City.  

Oliver produced Claire Denis’s High Life (with Robert Pattinson, Juliette Binoche, André Benjamin, and shot by Yorick Le Saux), and Liv Ullmann’s Miss Julie (with Jessica Chastain, Colin Farrell, Samantha Morton, and shot by Mikhail Krichman). 

For High Life (2018), Oliver brought in some of the world’s leading creative minds: from the writer Zadie Smith to the artist Olafur Eliasson, to Aurélien Barrau—one of today’s foremost experts on black holes. In preparation for the film, he also produced a short with Claire Denis at the Fondation Louis Vuitton in Paris, shot by Agnes Godard.

High Life had gala premieres at the Toronto International Film Festival, the New York Film Festival, and the San Sebastian International Film Festival, and is distributed in North America by A24 and in the UK by ThunderbirdMiss Julie (2014) premiered at TIFF and received theatrical distribution in over 30 territories around the world. 

Oliver started his career in Paris as an assistant to the producers on Paris, Je T’aime. He then spent 2 years working as an acquisitions executive in international sales and distribution at The Works in London before transferring to New York to work on the production of New York, I Love You. He subsequently created a database of the costs and financial performance of more than 1500 independent films produced since 2000: it is a unique and unprecedented piece of market intelligence.

On a personal note, he grew up in Hong Kong, Singapore and London. He studied at the L.S.E., the University of Edinburgh, and L’Ecole du Louvre in Paris.
