The Invisible Dog Art Center is thrilled to welcome Andrea Sham for a month residency

Self-taught pastry artist, Andrea Sham approaches culinary creation like an artist composing her canvas: first comes inspiration and imagination, then comes ornamented shapes and soft, sour colors. recognizable at first glance, andrea sham’s ultra-aesthetic cakes are like poetic gourmet compositions. Deeply inspired by the beauty and potential of nature, Sham’s creations are as good as they are beautiful.

Originally from Venezuela, with a Chinese father and a Portuguese mother, she arrived in France at the age of 12. After a long search for her path in different fields such as anthropology, naturopathy, cinema, or millinery, it is thanks to a happy accident during a professional experience in a juice bar that Andrea Sham launched into pastry making. The owner, dissatisfied with the cakes from another supplier, suggested she sells her own creations. The success is immediate.

Andrea Sham’s boundless imagination makes her one of the most important figures in the pastry industry. She has recently produced unique creations in partnership with prestigious brands such as Longchamp, Chanel, Miu Miu, Ysé, and Jacquemus. Moreover, she had the opportunity to transcribe her singular universe by signing two menus: one for the reopening of the Carnavalet Museum and the other for the very chic Parisian caterer Otto.

Andrea Sham is constantly pushing back the boundaries of culinary creation and is now thinking of creating gastronomic installations and new artistic collaborations.
