Life Matters // Documentary Screening with Director Kyle Boyd

Baptist minister Curtis Boyd relinquished the pulpit in the 1960s to become a doctor who provided thousands of safe, illegal abortions prior to Roe v. Wade. This film tells the story of Dr. Boyd and a group of compassionate clergymen, who remain dedicated to the idea that all women have the right to a safe abortion.

Our Season, the 13th, is now over… The Invisible Dog remains open during regular gallery hours over the summer. You can come visit us, hang in the garden and visit Takao Shirashi’s monumental installation.

And save the date: on Saturday September 10, we launch our Season 14 with a five-week festival called NAFAS, “this elusive gift that makes food taste better”, including a group exhibition of 33 artists and a series of performances and events.

Puerto Rican interdisciplinary artist Yanira Castro (a canary torsi) is collaborating with three to five teens from Girl Scout Troop 6000, a girl scout program specially designed to serve girls in the New York City Shelter system, on a tea ritual and oral history project on land, embodiment, and self-determination.

Queer Trash Presents: Will Atkins / Lucie Vítková / Gabe Rubin

2018 Suzanne Fiol Curatorial Fellow and collective Queer Trash are thrilled to present new work from composer and multi-instrumentalist Lucie Vítková, performance artist Gabe Rubin, and butoh dancer Will Atkins. Queer Trash return to present three performances that expand, disturb, and pervert notions of the human body spanning performance art, experimental composition, movement, and rope suspension.
